How to make a family tree

How to make a family tree by Max Roberts

As you get into the hobby of family research, it’s a great idea to involve everyone in the family–including your children! Sure, you could download and print one of those generic family tree templates. But instead, why not have the kids make the tree? First off, it’s your turn. Consult with the oldest living members of your family to see how far back they remember their ancestry. Write these down. Next, using an Internet resource such as genealogy.com or ancestry.com, it should be easy to fill in the gaps in your family. Write these names down as well.
Now get two large pieces of poster-board and colored water markers. Help the children draw a tall tree. Make sure the tree has the limbs branching correctly. For instance, think how far back you want to go: to great-grandparents level or Great, great grandparents? Great, great, great grandparents can be recommended as a good starting point. They will be the “root” on the tree. So at the lowest level of the tree will be branches for each of their children. Each of these branches will then have a branch for each of their children, and so forth, with the branches getting smaller as they go up the tree. Try to balance the limbs on both sides of the tree, to make it even. Now it’s your turn again. Neatly write all the names you’d gotten before into their respective “limbs.” In the future, if you manage to go back further on your family history, you can turn the “root” into a limb on the new “root” (the new, earliest ancestors).

Children’s Bike Races for June - Great Outdoors Month

Children’s Bike Races for June - Great Outdoors Month by Richard McDuff

June is Great Outdoors Month and it is time to get the children outdoors and to get them to burn off some of that excess energy. Bike races are a fun and can be great time for everybody. Maybe you can find other adults and children in the neighborhood that would like to get involved in these bike races. I remember as a child, I would race the local kids all the time.

It is also an opportunity to teach children basic bicycle maintenance and safety. Make sure that you have a tire gauge around and that you teach each child how to use it as they check their tires. Tires should have the maximum tire pressure on the side of the tire.

Teach the children how to check their brakes, make sure that the both sides of the brake come in contact with the tire, when applied. While they may not be able to fix the bicycle brakes, they should be able to see whether the brakes need to be changed or maybe the cable needs to be tightened or replaced. Make sure that every child has a helmet, not only does this cut down on head injuries, most states have laws that all children under a certain age must wear a helmet. Even adults should wear a helmet, to cut down on head injuries.

These little bike races can also be an opportunity to teach children basic hand signals. I am always amazed at how many young adults do not know basic hand signals. These can save your children’s life if the driver of a vehicle knows what the young cyclist’s intentions. Your state government has some great bike safety brochures so that as grownup you can freshen up on bike safety. Even though I have ridden a bike for years, I always find something new in these safety brochures. You can also hand the brochures out to the children before the races.

I have found that a round robin racing format is the best with children. You can control the number of children that are riding at any one time. You do not want them bunching together and colliding with one another.

You will also need to use your imagination when you give out the prizes, the winner, second place, the best sportsperson, etc. Everyone should leave with a feeling of success. They are not in a professional competition, the key to the little Bike races are to teach bike safety and maintenance and to get them out into the outdoors. Make June the Great Outdoor Month a great time for your children.

7 Tips for Taking Better Family Pictures

7 Tips for Taking Better Family Pictures by Jennifer Shannon

As I prepare to write my very first article, I can’t help but feeling like the magician who does the tricks and then tells you how he does it… gives you a look behind all the smoke and mirrors. The reason is I am a photographer and I want to share with other families on how to take better pictures themselves of their own families. I know it’s blasphemy… but for me it’s important to have memories and an important way of preserving them is through photography.
Before I became a photographer I was a mother who could not always afford the film in my own camera much less to have pictures taken professionally of my children… so there were long periods of years undocumented in their lives. Now so much has changed, and I want to share with other families simple tips they can use to help preserve their own memories.

1. Get together with another family. Have the other family take pictures of you and then you take pictures of them… have you ever noticed that a lot of the pictures you have, there’s always one person who’s the photographer and never in the shot… doing this with another family gives you a different perspective (pardon the pun) and the freedom to actually be in the shot.

2. Go outside! To a park, or take advantage of any other beautiful setting and especially the natural light. The average person cannot afford studio lighting and that flash that comes with the camera, ick! So go out and use the best lighting that is a true gift from God. But don’t take the pictures in direct light… go under the shade of a tree or structure if it’s full sun.

3. Best times for lighting is early morning (before 10) or evening… when the sun is not directly overhead. Look at the sky during different times of the day and you’ll see how either the light is soft and flattering or bright and harsh. Use this to your advantage.

4. Sometimes the best shots of children are when you are on their eye level. If they’re crawling, that means you’re laying on the ground looking up at them.

5. Stay away from white shirts… they can wash the subjects out, especially in the sunlight. Use softer colors that compliment the skin tones.

6. For a different twist, take bubbles with you to the park or everyone have a red balloon. Who cares if it’s gimmicky… it’s fun. And when you’re having fun, it shows in the picture.

7. Study portraits taken by photographers who specialize in children & family photography. Now I’m not suggesting that your pictures will look exactly the same. You have to take into consideration the years of training, experience, thousands upon thousands dollars of equipment and software (if using digital) and the millions of shots taken… until just that perfect one… but it will help you to understand the style you like and try to create in your own shots.

Irregardless of what methods you use, just take those pictures… they’re only little for only so long.

Good luck and remember to just have fun and enjoy your family!

Painless Air Travel with Children- Tips for Parents

Painless Air Travel with Children- Tips for Parents by Nancy Myers

Whoever said, “half the fun is getting there” never sat in a crowded airport terminal with a crying, famished toddler and no relief in sight. Before the summer travel season begins, arm yourself with these clever tips and suggestions to make the travel days “smooth sailing” for everyone.
Planning Ahead

1. If there are several kids and two adults traveling together, consider booking seats in different rows. The kids can trade places mid-flight and enjoy some one-on-one time with each parent. If one child gets especially distracting to surrounding passengers, the child has somewhere else to go. Even ten rows may be enough soothe both the child’s and the passengers’ nerves.

2. Take advantage of the pre-boarding call for families by sending one adult ahead on the early boarding call to install safety seats, stash backpacks, and maybe stow a surprise in the kid’s seats. The remaining adult and children then board the plane at the very last moment. This way the kids have every last minute available to stretch their legs before they face the close quarters in their seats, and it may increase the anticipation and novelty of airplane travel.

3. If the travel schedule allows, large families with two adults may do well to actually fly separately - one adult and kid(s) a few hours preceding the other adult and kid(s). This works on the premise that one adult and one or two kids can maneuver more easily than two adults and two (or more) kids.

4. Think about your own comfort needs for the journey - wear comfortable, easy-care clothing and shoes built for walking, for example. Dark colors are also great for hiding stains - consider the traveling mom whose young son bonked his head at the airport and bled all over her shirt. Thankfully the boy was fine, but their flight was canceled and mom spent the next 24 hours in that shirt. It was navy blue, however, and no one noticed the stains.

5. The early departing adult can get curbside dropoff while the later departing parent can park the car and get shuttle transport to the terminal; the early departing parent can take all the checked luggage, then upon arrival can secure luggage and the rental car or shuttle schedules, so the later arriving parent can get easy curbside pickup.

6. Pack a light “fun” bag for the children. Kids as young as two may delight in having their own bag or backpack to carry through the trip - just be aware that it may lose appeal after a short while and will be carried by an adult, so plan accordingly. Let the child choose a special item or two to pack, but stash a surprise in the bag as well, and call on it if the child needs a distraction.

Pack Healthy Meals And/Or Snacks for the Journey

Bring healthy meals and snacks with you. It may be hard to believe, but airport and airline food has become more expensive, less diverse, and less healthy in the last several years. When flights are delayed, airport food options can quickly become scarce. Add that to the rigorous security restrictions for carrying liquids and gels, and travel delays with kids becomes daunting indeed. Again, planning for contingencies like delays can make the difference between “adventure” and “ordeal” on the travel day.

1, Find an insulated lunch box with a leakproof container to carry foods for your travel day. If you are flying, leave the ice pack at home or be prepared to surrender it to the security personnel, as it breaks the 3 oz rule. Instead, fill a bottle with ice cubes or a small container with water and freeze it ahead of time. It will work well as a coolant and when time comes to go through security the ice or water can be pitched. Otherwise, snacks should only be non-perishable.

2. Pack the lunchboxes before leaving home, but I don’t let the kids open them until they are on the plane. This serves several purposes: it keeps the kids moving towards the ultimate goal (buckled in their seats), and they may just act like it’s Christmas morning when they finally get to tear into their boxes and see what goodies you have stashed for them.

3. Be sure to fill the containers with goodies that will delight and sustain through a long day. Remember that “treat” doesn’t have to mean “unhealthy” and variety is essential. There are plenty of options: dried fruit, fresh fruit, salad greens and other sliced vegetables, crackers, pretzels, popcorn, hard cheeses that tolerate room temperature, jerky, smoked salmon, chocolate, granola (note that bars are less messy but are usually loaded with sugar). If you wish to add a sweet treat, chewy fruit snacks are often a favorite. In consideration of other travelers, avoid common allergens such as nuts.

4. Don’t forget that you will need snacks and distractions for the trip as well. Many of the same foods will appeal to adults, but if you can carve out the time before the trip to prepare, create a “build your own appetizers” selection by packing different flavors and varieties of crackers and sliced breads, mini breadsticks, crostini, blini, pita chips, or other “base”. Then pack small quantities of plain or flavored cream cheeses (use a small spoon for spreading), olives, pickles, pimentos, capers, scallions, smoked salmon, beef jerky or other dried meats, hummus, sliced fresh or lightly steamed vegetables, or whatever else pleases your palate. You will be the envy of your cabinmates.

5. After traversing the security gates but before boarding, fill a drink bottle with fresh water in the terminal. You may even find a food vendor willing to provide ice. Just remember when you open the bottle mid-flight that the change in cabin pressure may cause the bottle to spill, so keep a napkin handy.

Winter travel is a memory, but picnic season and summer travel season are right around the corner. With a little planning and foresight, “half the fun is getting there” may come back into favor after all.

How to Maintain Happy Family Relations

How to Maintain Happy Family Relations
By Michael W James

The family is the most important structure on the planet. Despite this reality, the family unit is usually overlooked and sometimes abandoned. What can be done to protect this vital structure? How can we maintain and strengthen family ties? How does good family structure contribute to nation building?

Families are the building blocks of societies, therefore, to have better societies, we need to have better families. Having said that, we now need to identify where to start. Well, the best place to start is at the beginning, the parents. Parents play a very important and vital role in family life. Let us examine four things that we can do, that when applied, can significantly improve our family relations.

We need to be good role models for our children. Children are copy cats, so, if we are bad role models, they will copy it, the same is true if are we good role models. Secondly, we need to talk with our children. Lets face it, our children needs to let themselves be heard, by talking to and listening to them, we get to know what is on their minds. Knowing what they are thinking will enable us to give meaningful advice. Third, we need to get involved. The possibility of our children using illegal drugs will be greatly reduced if we get involved in their lives. We can do this by engaging in a number of activities such as, going to a movie, playing both indoor and outdoor games, preparing a meal, and helping with their home work just to name a few. Last we need to set rules. Children are not able to identify danger, so, someone else have to identify their own danger, so, therefore, setting rules is one way to protect our children and they will thank us for it years to come.

It is not difficult to see that good family structures contributes to nation building. Within the family there are prospective doctors, teachers, lawyers, nurses, engineers, and the list goes on, therefore, when we make the effort to develop good family relations, we are actually laying the groundwork for future societies. As parents, let us do everything we can to cultivate good relations within our families.

Dare to Dream About Home Plans

Dare to Dream About Home Plans
By Alice Lane

To many people life is all about dreaming and planning to fulfill those dreams. There are those who dream of making money and buying whatever they want. There are those who dream of family and spirituality and don’t really need much money. And there are those who dream of a home. These people may or may not think about lots of money. They may be the type who might take a Harmony Mountain cottage home plan and figure out how to do most of the work themselves. They know what they want and where they want it and often times even know how to get it.

Those with less construction talent may be looking for a similar house plan, ranch simple yet have no desire to build it themselves. Their dreams may include a particular place to go with their plans. Seeing that place is all part of the dream, finding the real location may be part of the fun. Traveling to shop for land can be a lifetime effort. Of course, for some, that is what life is all about.

For others, a home can be a dream but they really don’t have the capacity to dream of a location and try to find it. They also may not have the time or where-with-all to build it themselves. For these dreamers, finding their prairie house floor plans and finding a good contractor is what their dream is all about. It may not be as romantic but it is every bit as of their dream as anyone else.

No matter what your dream you can find your plans at House Plans and More. There you will find what you want if your dream is a Harmony Mountain cottage home plan. It is also for those dreamers of house plan ranch simple or prairie house floor plans.

Slipping Into Spring - Simple Ideas to Help Us Out of the Winter Blues

Slipping Into Spring - Simple Ideas to Help Us Out of the Winter Blues
By Dana Plazyk

Ditching the winter blues may not be as easy this year as in years past…especially after watching neighbors, family members, or perhaps ourselves struggle with staying afloat financially, job searching or wondering what your future holds for 2009 and beyond.

There are many cost-effective yet soul-soothing actions you can take around your home to make the transition from winter to spring a smooth and enjoyable trip and put contribute to a positive spin on outlooks.

Number one is to acknowledge and embrace the health and happiness that is all around you. Celebrate the positive instead of dwelling in the negative.

Changes in your home such as a fresh coat of paint will literally make your home feel “brand new”. Paint performs a miracle in transforming a room’s warm and receptive qualities. Windows can also benefit from light neutral shades, which will allow the most light to reflect into a room.

Moving furniture also has a “start over” kind of effect. You’ve seen it in home decorator magazines and TV shows…a few changes in furniture placement and picture groupings can definitely make a huge difference in the flow and energy of a room. Don’t be stuck thinking that the candelabra or vase that has sat on your mantel for years wouldn’t look fabulous as a coffee table centerpiece! You can even try reading online or purchase a book about the Chinese art of Feng Shui, which deals with how to achieve balance in each room through object placement.

After you’ve rediscovered your living room, have a picnic (minus the ants, of course)! Use all the trimmings–blanket, basket, plastic utensils, and a healthy lunch…and don’t forget friends and family.

Real plants not growing yet? Opt for their silk counterparts! Lush green plants and spring blooms give us the impression of change and growth. What better way to bring these emotions into your home than with Nature? Most silks available nowadays are so lifelike, that you might even fool people into thinking you have a greenhouse out back! Your bonus? No maintenance with the exception of an occasional dusting.

Change your daily routine by exercising in the morning rather than the evening or vice-versa. Do something different with your hair. Don’t be afraid to wear a pair of earrings that you normally save for a special occasion. Look in fashion magazines to see how you could pair pieces of clothing you wouldn’t have thought of before. Be adventurous!

Sometimes getting outside of your comfort zone is the best way to discover new things about yourself and the world around you. Little steps out of the winter blues will make a big difference in how you feel about yourself and the world around you. The only thing left to do is to take action!

Putting with the Family

by Ken Morris

Are you a golfer who is looking for a family vacation or excursion? Let’s face it; most families are big on golf. Your children (and sometimes your spouse) are the hardest to convince that golf can be fun. While not the same, why not trying out a miniature golf course? There is usually one within driving distance from your home. For miniature golf enthusiasts, there are even vacations built around visiting putt-putt golf courses. In any case, you’ll have some time to bond with the family and get in a little putting practice.

Every miniature golf course is different and has innovative challenges. There will be windmills, bridges, ponds and other exciting obstacles to keep the whole family entertained. The last shot of the course is usually the hardest but there is sometimes a small prize for getting a hole in one or making a seemingly impossible shot.

This isn’t your typical day on the green; the putting practice isn’t the same, you won’t be practicing your golf swing and the obstacles are surely not the same. But you can still have fun. You might even be able to showoff a bit and your family might find a new appreciation to your weekends on the golf course.

Don’t take yourself (or your golf practice) too seriously at a putt-putt course. Most are there just to have a good time so if you are competitive it will just irritate your family. Also, only offer help if your family asks for it since trying to show your kids how to properly hit the ball will make them lose their interest. Though there should be someone keeping score and friendly competition can be fun, don’t worry if it’s not 100 percent accurate; again, you’re there to have fun.

You don’t have to limit putt-putt golf to just your family. It can also be fun if you invite other families of golf buddies. You can get a kick out of the seemingly easy but truly difficult holes and your kids can have fun together.

If you don’t know where the nearest putt-putt golf course is then you can easily use the internet to find one. It’s unfortunately a dying family pastime but there is usually at least one in every town. A miniature golf course outing or vacation is rather inexpensive especially compared with fees at a real golf course. You can use all the savings from your usual golf Sunday to treat the family to an hour at the arcade and a nice dinner.

Decorating A Childs Bedroom

Throughout the course of your son or daughter’s childhood you may find that you have to decorate their bedroom several times due to their ever changing ideas or with the addition of brothers or sisters. Therefore, it is important to agree a budget and stick to it. Homebase Bedroom Furniture has a great range of furniture at a great price without skimping on quality.

Refurnishing and decorating a child’s room doesn’t have to be very expensive. There are plenty of lovely wall papers and paints available with colours to suit every child’s taste. As well as the essential bed, you may also want to look at adding a desk and chair. Children like to have a place where they can be creative, they also like a little personal space where mum, dad and other siblings are not constantly looking over their ‘work’. As they get older a desk can also be used a place to complete homework or other projects.

Aside from tables and chairs what comes next in importance is a table lamp or instead a bed-side light that your youngster can access from the bed in the night time or whenever necessary. We all understand that youngsters usually have a phobia regarding the dark so it is essential that they have a light conveniently placed when they want to go to the bathroom in the night. Also many children enjoy reading a book or magazine before settling to sleep. In this example the lamp will be of good assistance since it will be within easy reach and can be turned off without your youngster getting out of the bed.

Finally, items such as alarm clocks, a music centre or television can be added. Children want to relax after school just as much as adults want to relax at the end of a working day. Their bedroom should be a comfortable place to do this in. Children may also want to add a few photos or posters relating to any TV, film or music they are fans of. All of these things are relatively inexpensive and remember, your child’s ideas and tastes will inevitably change as they get older so you may find yourself decorating their room again in the near future so you don’t need to spend a fortune on this one redecoration project.

Advice for neighbors about barking dogs

If you are the neighbor of a barking dog, there are steps you can take to keep your neighborhood peaceful.

First, try contacting the barking dog’s owner and ask them to do something about the noise. On some occasions the pet owner may not be conscious of the problem and hopefully take steps to stop the barking right away.

If this does not work, then call your local humane society. They will want the name and address of the dog owner, and they will need your name and address too. They will also want to know when the dog is disturbing people.

In general a letter from the humane society is sent to the dog owner, usually this letter solves the barking problem.

Yet, if the dog continues to disrupt the peace, notify the humane society again. Usually a complaint will be issued and an officer will hand deliver it to the dog owner.

A complaint must be signed by persons representing households within a reasonable distance of the animal owner. If the owner still does not do something to stop the barking, he may have to appear in court.

keep in mind, if your dog is doing the barking; avoid the ugliness for yourself and fellow neighbors with some reasonable dog training.

Finally, if you are end up being a neighbor of a barking dog, keep in mind that you can do something about it. Most states and counties have noise laws on the books.

What Do You Do On a Cold, Winter Day

Find huge savings all year long at New York Family.

As we crawl through another long, cold winter in New York, the biggest question every family with children asks themselves is “What do we do with the kids today?”

In the summertime, it’s usually pretty easy to find an activity to keep the kids occupied, heck, they usually find their own activities which keep them going for hours on a long, hot, lazy summer day.

In the wintertime, the ideas just a little more scarce. Many families have told me that they send their kids into the basement to play, or send them to a friends house, or take them to the local YMCA and let them run off a little energy there.

With the recent Wii boom, families have gotten lost for hours on a winter’s day. You can even pretend it’s summer with a friendly game of Tiger Woods Golf on Wii.

Whatever activity you come up with for your family and kids, remember, spring and summer and day’s full of activities and fun are just a few months away.

Find huge savings all year long at New York Family.

How to sketch Your Own House Plans

Your funds is the most vital thing to think about prior to create to design your own house. Although it seems clear, it is extremely easy to get accepted away with your brand new home design ideas. It is fun to put designs down on paper, but if you continue addition and adding to your design plan you might finish up with something that is not realistic.

Creating your own home is difficult since of all the choice that have to be decided. It may be like starting up with a empty canvas and drawing a picture. It is a good idea to ask most members of the family what they would want. It will, after all, be everyone’s home and everybody is going to have to live in it. The more effort you get, the more likely everyone must be content with the end design. Try to narrow down the design plans to ones that are the most sensible and affordable. Attempt to locate thoughts on small bathroom makeovers also.

A wonderful place to start for ideas is with a design book you may find in most any book store. This will give you some famous starting points and plans to work with. When you have an idea of what you might want, you can use one of the many fitting online gear that are available. Most of them can be used for liberated or for very rational rates. You will be able to plan your property in 3D-3 dimension and mess around with all sorts of choice.

Once you have a design down on paper (or on your computer), you can take your plan to a pro who will be able to make many changes. He/She may be able to make suggestions and to modify the home so that it will be structurally sound. Make sure you take advantage of the professional’s expertise and ask all inquiry you might have. Now is the time to find out if that extra room is some thing that is needed.

Decorative Plant Stands Are A Great Way To Enhance Your Decor

Plant stands are both decorative and versatile and they’re not just for plants either! You can use decorative plants stands for many uses in the home and they are perfect for adding some charm to an odd corner or small wall.  In addition, a nicely fashioned pedestal plant stand is ideal for displaying extra items when you've run out of room on your mantle or shelving.

The appeal of either a living or an artificial plant is enhanced by putting it on an attractive plant stand. Unlike live plants, silk ones will allow you to enjoy greenery without putting time into watering. But artificial plants can be a bit boring so they should have a stand to add to its character. Putting a plant on an interesting stand will help to bring the outdoors in and will add an element of softness and nature to your home.

No matter if you plan to put plants, pictures, or other items on your stand, you need to remember these cardinal rules when you set out to choose a stand. The stand should enhance whatever you are putting on it. The perfect plant stand for any type of plant is readily available, and makes it easier than ever for you to make a statement with not only your beautiful greenery, but also with your plant stands!

You also need to think about what the stand will be supporting both in weight and size. Consider the proportions of the plant in relation to the stand carefully as you want a good balance. You want to reconsider pairing a heavy, overpowering stand with a small, decorative plant. A fern, however, would look gorgeous on a pedestal that is delicate and petite.  Think about the décor of the room you will be placing your stand in too – a light airy room will look perfect with wrought iron stands, but a more formal style of décor might  look better with traditional wooden plant stands.

And don’t forget about color!  Always consider the colors of the flowers of the plants you will be displaying as well as any picture frames or plant pots or containers. Complementary colors or neutral tones should be considered when purchasing a plant stand.

Size is also important. Make sure that your plant pot will fit on top of the stand. The top of the stand needs to be a little larger than your container. This will be more aesthetically pleasing as well as more stable.

For plant stands to remain standing upright, all that is usually necessary is a solid and level floor. When displaying heavy or large items, you should take care to get a stand that can support the weight while still being appropriate for your flooring. As an example, a pedestal of light weight probably would not be the right thing if the floor has plush carpeting. If you have hardwood floors, however, this base will work just fine.

Show off your flare for style in your home by finding unique and creative ways to decorate with plant stands.  You will surely get a lot of compliments on your home and decorating ability as these little stands let you express your creative side in a big way.

A Golf Vacation For The Entire Family.

by Peter Wilson

A golfing trip can be the perfect vacation whether you’re an avid golfer or just play for fun. Even those that play golf will each prefer something different for their golf vacation.

For some, the highlight of a golf trip would be having perfect weather for golfing all day and strolling the beach at night. Golfers that are always striving to better their game may want inclement weather and many hazards on the course to make them play better under adverse conditions. They may also love the idea of playing on a course where professional golfers such as Arnold Palmer or Tiger Woods have played. Who knows whom they may run into on the course?

Golfing is a serious game for many people, men and women alike. In the past, golf was more a game enjoyed by men so couples would mix golf and travel together to get the perfect vacation. With so many different golf balls and accessories, golf no longer needs to be played only during daylight hours. There are glow-in-the dark golf balls and fluorescent golf balls, which both make playing golf at night much more fun and challenging. Because of these brightly designed balls, winter golf is more popular than ever as there is no longer the chance of not seeing the balls in the snow.

Playing golf under extreme weather conditions is something that appeals to male golfers more than the woman, although there are many women that will get right down and play in frigid temperatures right next to their male competitors. Even though most don’t enjoy the extreme cold temperatures, they realize the actual game doesn’t take that long and it will give them the opportunity to test their skills under the worst conditions.

For the more serious golfers, playing in inclement weather with many hazards is not only challenging and exciting, but a lot of fun. There are some serious precautions, however, that need to be taken to protect yourself, your family and any friends that may be with you. If the weather is excessively hot, it’s important to bring plenty of cold water or fluids to prevent dehydration and illness because of overheat. Always dress appropriately.

If the weather, however, is cold, it is equally important that you dress for the cold temperatures with plenty of layers of warm clothing. Drink warm fluids and take breaks as often as necessary. Nothing will wreck a golf vacation quicker than members of your group getting sick or worse yet, a trip to the emergency room.

Many people choose to not combine golf and travel together and prefer to just shoot some balls at their local shooting range with their friends. Playing some good competitive fun games with their friends is often what they consider a great golf vacation. No work and playing golf everyday-what more could they want?
